Wedding Music

What ?

Much research has been recently performed into the psychological effects of different styles of music. You may have noticed that background piped music in shopping malls and telephone on-hold is now frequently classical.

Research has shown that 18th Century Music from Bach, Händel, Mozart and Vivaldi has a calming effect on crowds. Thus, while you may have a favorite pop song it is better to leave this for the party atmosphere of the reception. If you are serious about the vows and the ceremony, your preference would be for your friends and family to in a quiet serious mood.

You may click on the playlist of examples of such music on your left.

Where ?

Whereas the traditional wedding ceremony was in a church, open air or an attractive building is now often preferred.

You can still have the same musical atmosphere by hiring the real church organ advertised on this site at reasonable cost.

Many churches that are otherwise attractive have very inferior instruments, but this can no be corrected by importing this portable true pipe organ.

· Remember that even the best music in the hands of the most competent professional organise can sound unrecognisable on many of the so-called organs in churches. We can advise on the music / instrument suitability in the site of your choice.
· Most "Wedding" Music was written for orchestras, so it will sound different even on the best organ. If desired, we can advise on true organ music suitable for the ceremony.
· Deficiencies of the organ can be dramatically hidden by hiring an instrumental soloist, especially a trumpeter, giving a very regal effect to the entrance and departure of the bride. We can advise on suitable artists.
· Congregational hymns are usually inadvisable unless your friends and relatives are firstly regular churchgoers can sing well. If desired, we recommend well-known hymns such as "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "O Perfect Love".
· There is often a request for a guitar. Unamplified guitar sounds quite thin in a church, and if amplified, gives the feeling of a rock concert rather than a serious ceremony.

Remember, book early and check check check, especially one week before the wedding. This applies especially to hire cars, which are notorious for late arrival, or not turning up at all.
